I guess we'll just wait and see then. Maybe he's being manipulated or maybe he's just better at acting nice then Jack is.
Either way he's made his choice. I'm not saying we don't help him if he ends up needing help but for now it's probably best if we just avoid the topic of Jack around him and be careful around him in general.
With Angel here my usual plan of just trying to ignore Jack's existence is going to have to be worked over a bit. This guy just gives Jack another way to try and convince her he's changed.
We have agreed to not discuss Jack anymore, though I'd like to try and stay his friend. As much as possible, at least.
He told me part of the reason he doesn't want to ditch Jack is because it would show him there is no reason to try changing at all. While I think he is seriously overestimating Jack's capacity for change, that sort of reasoning applies to him too. If we ditch him now, we will just be giving Jack so much more opportunity to manipulate him. From what he told me, part of the reason he likes Jack is because Jack has been accepting of him as a person and the fact that he doesn't have an interest in women. Maybe if we show him there are other people here too that will accept him, he might change his mind...
In any case though, do you know if Angel knows about him? We should probably tell her, just so she is aware of what is going on.
And are the three of you still going to be staying in Goldenrod?
I'm not sure if she does. It might be a good idea to talk to her about it.
Also it would probably be a good idea to figure out if living in Goldenrod is still the best plan too. The house previously belonged to one of Kriegs friends.
[But same city as Jack is you know...not great.]
As for Steven you do raise a good point. Though I don't have as much of a connection to him. But, what does him not having an interest in women have to do with anything? Is that something people in his world don't accept?
You know you are always welcome here on the islands. But I leave that up to the three of you to figure out.
[Living in the same city as Jack is not great, but Armin also trusts in Maya and Krieg's ability to keep Angel safe.]
That's what he told me. He said he was out, that was the word he used, to his close friends and family, but that he would've lost his job if anyone else knew. So when Jack was that openly accepting of him, to him, that was really significant.
I guess it would be. I mean it's not really that hard for Jack since I've never heard of, who people were interested in being an issue in our universe. Then again I'm not interested in any gender so I'm not really an expert.
[She is the opposite of an expert. That sort of stuff is in a bubble marked, boring and for other people.]
It is the same where I am from. So I can understand how significant it must feel to him. Being forced to deny part of who you are is always difficult.
[Not that Steven and Armin's worlds are analogous. Where Armin is from, such things are not talked about at all. Certainly, Ymir had always joked about marrying Christa, but nobody had ever really taken that serious as it was Christa, the person who could tame any wild beast. Though Armin suspects now Ymir had hardly been joking.
Of course, such behaviour had also existed in their world. But it was something kept away, something eccentric to be hidden and denied in the light of day.]
I think everyone where I'm from is too busy either selling things, trying to get power or killing people to care that much. People don't care in this world do they?
Not as far as I can tell. Shiro had that big wedding, right? And nobody seemed to mind he was marrying another man. Not the guests and certainly not the people at the stores we got the supplies from. They were really quick to change all the bride and groom stuff to groom and groom.

[It's just. Very close to Jack.]

It's too bad it had to be Jack.
