[No seriously, what the fuck? First Maya, then (more politely) Armin had both ditched the session. He'd never seen a gaming group fall apart that fast. Every other one he'd been in had at least made it through the first session.]
[Maya almost just doesn't replay at all. She's still angry at having Jack's presence being surprised on her like that. However it's just a text. This is fine. She can do this. It's fine.]
I didn't realize you knew Jack. I never would have joined up if I knew he was going to be involved.
I didn't want to say if he was coming until I knew for certain.
[He's learned his lesson about speaking for Jack with that disaster of a Rocket memo.]
But yes. I know Jack. I've known him practically since I got here. He's the other person in Goldenrod I said I wanted to bring. I didn't realize I had to advertise his possible presence for any activity I might do with him.
You don't have to do anything. I just left because I don't like being surprised when the guy who tried to kill me, my friends and a planets worth of people, shows up out of nowhere.
Yeah. Pandora. He was going to use the vault monster to kill the people on the planet Pandora because they weren't people to him. No one is a person to him if he decides they're in his way or he can use them.
[He almost types Are you sure it wasn't just that he wanted to kill you, because honestly he doesn't really need to dehumanize anyone to kill them.
He almost types He was probably just trying to kill you because you were a terrorist, not because he didn't think you were a person.
But in the end he just types,]
That. Doesn't really sound like the Jack I know.
[Because honestly? Jack might be eternally up for murder, but he also passed Steven's Are You An Asshole Social Issues Test with flying colors. He wouldn't casually dehumanize someone... would he?]
I know he's capable of killing people. He told me about how he shot this Merriff guy in self defense when the guy tried to kill *him*.
But Jack's not the kind of guy to just... casually unpeople people. He's not. Like, he's obnoxious as hell and basically the future version of a Silicon Valley Asshole, I get that, but I *do* try to vet my friends a little and he's not racist, sexist, or homophobic. He's really open-minded. That just... doesn't sound like him.
Ask him why he thinks he has the right to kill off everyone on Pandora then.
Look, you know this version of Jack. One that's been stripped of all his power, his armies, his robots, his company and wealth. The Jack we faced down on Pandora had all of that and more. That's why there was a rebellion against him. That's why we stopped him. Because the people of Pandora might be mostly raiders and bandits and the like but that doesn't mean every single person on that planet deserved to die just because he wanted to wipe the slate clean and loot the planet for profit.

But God, what does he even say to that? Yeah, well, according to him you're a terrorist? No. Fuck. Erase that one too. Wait, did she just say...]
A *planet's* worth of people?
[Because really, Jack. That's just excessive.]

[Welp. That's... probably the last she'll hear from him for a while.]
